Cookie & Browser Storage Policy

Last updated: 3 October 2026

Last updated: 6 October 2026 · Version: 1.0

This Policy explains how HORE uses cookies, local storage, session storage and similar browser technologies when you use the HORE customer website or web application.

Some storage is necessary for HORE to securely operate features such as login and session continuity. Other technologies, such as optional analytics or advertising technologies, should only be activated in accordance with your privacy choice and applicable law.

1. What are cookies and browser storage?

Websites and web applications can store small amounts of information on your device or browser.

This may include:

  • Cookies: small data files that a website may place in your browser.
  • Local storage: browser storage that can remain available after the browser or tab is closed.
  • Session storage: temporary browser storage that is normally limited to a browsing session or tab.
  • Similar technologies: browser identifiers, software-development-kit storage, device identifiers, pixels, tags or other technologies used for similar purposes.

In this Policy, we refer to these technologies collectively as "browser storage" unless a distinction is necessary.

2. Essential storage

HORE may use browser storage that is reasonably necessary to provide and secure the service requested by you.

Essential storage may be used for purposes such as:

  • keeping you signed in to your HORE account;
  • storing authentication or session information required by the application;
  • maintaining security and protecting the platform against unauthorised access;
  • preserving the continuity of an active session while you move between HORE pages;
  • remembering your privacy or consent choices so HORE does not need to ask for the same choice on every page;
  • temporarily maintaining information required for core customer flows;
  • supporting property comparison, saved interface state or similar user-requested functionality where those features use local browser storage; and
  • preventing repeated requests, abuse or security-related activity.

Essential storage is not intended to be used merely to create advertising profiles.

Blocking or deleting essential storage may cause HORE to sign you out, lose locally stored preferences or prevent some account and customer features from working correctly.

3. Authentication and session information

When you log in to HORE, the application may store authentication or session information in a cookie or another browser-storage mechanism, depending on the implementation used by HORE.

This information allows HORE to recognise an authenticated session and communicate securely with HORE services.

Authentication information should only be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for the session, account-security purpose or other applicable technical requirement.

You should not manually copy, publish or share authentication tokens, session identifiers or similar credentials with another person.

4. Functional and preference storage

HORE may use browser storage to remember choices that improve your experience without being required for basic website delivery.

Depending on the feature, this may include:

  • property comparison selections;
  • recent interface preferences;
  • dismissed notices;
  • display or navigation preferences;
  • privacy-choice information; and
  • temporary information needed to continue a customer journey between pages.

Clearing browser data may reset some or all of these preferences.

5. Optional analytics

HORE may use analytics technology to understand how the customer website or application performs and how features are used.

Analytics may help HORE understand information such as:

  • which pages or features are used;
  • navigation and interaction events;
  • approximate session duration;
  • application or browser errors;
  • device and browser category;
  • performance information; and
  • aggregated usage trends.

Where an analytics technology requires an optional privacy choice or consent under applicable law or HORE's implementation, it should not be loaded until the necessary choice has been made.

If HORE uses analytics that can operate without optional browser tracking, HORE may treat that technology differently based on its technical characteristics and applicable law.

6. Advertising and marketing technologies

HORE may in the future use advertising, campaign-measurement or remarketing technologies to understand the effectiveness of HORE marketing campaigns or show relevant advertising.

Such technologies may process information such as:

  • campaign or advertisement identifiers;
  • page or conversion events;
  • browser or device identifiers;
  • referral information; and
  • limited information relating to interactions with a campaign.

Optional marketing or advertising tracking should not be activated where an affirmative privacy choice is required and you have not made that choice.

HORE does not treat acceptance of essential storage as automatic permission for optional advertising tracking.

7. Third-party technologies

Some HORE features may rely on technology supplied by third parties, including providers used for hosting, security, analytics, notifications, communications, customer support or advertising.

A third-party integration may itself use browser storage or receive limited technical information when the integration is loaded.

HORE should configure third-party technologies so that optional tracking is not loaded before the relevant privacy choice where such a choice is required.

Some third parties may independently process information under their own privacy policies when you directly interact with their services.

8. Your privacy choices

Where HORE provides optional analytics or marketing controls, you can choose whether those categories are enabled.

Refusing an optional category should not prevent you from using core HORE customer functionality merely because you declined optional tracking.

Essential technologies required for authentication, fraud prevention, security or another feature specifically requested by you may still operate because the feature may not technically function without them.

9. Changing or withdrawing your choice

You can return to the HORE privacy controls and change an optional privacy choice at any time.

Where processing is based on consent, changing or withdrawing that consent applies to future processing that depends on the consent. It does not automatically make earlier lawful processing invalid.

After you disable an optional category, HORE should stop initiating new processing through that category where the choice applies.

Information already transmitted to a third-party provider may remain subject to that provider's lawful retention requirements or deletion processes.

10. Previously stored cookies or identifiers

Disabling an optional category does not necessarily remove every cookie or value that was already stored in your browser.

HORE should prevent disabled optional technologies from continuing to use stored identifiers where technically and legally applicable.

You can also remove existing browser data through your browser settings.

11. Browser controls

Most modern browsers allow you to review, block or delete cookies and site data.

Depending on your browser, you may be able to:

  • delete stored cookies;
  • clear local storage and site data;
  • block some or all cookies;
  • block third-party cookies;
  • clear data when the browser closes; or
  • manage permissions for individual websites.

Browser terminology and available controls differ between browsers and operating systems.

Clearing all HORE site data may sign you out, remove your locally stored compare list, reset privacy choices or remove other local preferences.

12. Private or incognito browsing

Private or incognito browsing modes may automatically remove some browser storage when the private session is closed.

The exact behaviour depends on your browser. Private browsing does not necessarily prevent websites, internet providers or other services from processing information generated during the session.

13. Storage duration

Different types of browser storage may remain for different periods.

  • Session storage generally lasts only for an active browser session or tab.
  • Persistent browser storage may remain until it reaches its configured expiry period, is overwritten, becomes no longer necessary or is deleted by you or HORE.
  • Authentication information may expire according to account-security and session-management settings.
  • Privacy-choice records may be retained so HORE can remember the choice you made and, where appropriate, maintain an audit record relating to that choice.

HORE aims to avoid retaining browser identifiers for longer than reasonably necessary for their stated purpose.

14. Do Not Track and similar browser signals

Browsers may provide "Do Not Track", Global Privacy Control or similar privacy signals.

The legal status, technical implementation and industry support for these signals can vary by jurisdiction and browser.

Where HORE is legally required to recognise a particular browser privacy signal, HORE will seek to implement the applicable requirement.

Otherwise, use the HORE privacy controls provided on this page to communicate your optional analytics and marketing preferences.

15. Mobile applications

A HORE mobile application may use device-side storage and software development kits rather than traditional browser cookies.

Similar principles apply: some local data may be necessary for login, security and application functionality, while optional analytics or marketing technologies may be subject to privacy choices and applicable law.

Mobile operating systems may also provide separate controls for notifications, advertising identifiers, photos, camera, location and other device permissions.

16. Relationship with the Privacy Policy

This Cookie & Browser Storage Policy explains technologies used on your device or browser.

HORE's broader processing of personal data — including account information, property enquiries, Realtor allocation, Sell Property submissions, messages, uploaded media, AI interactions and privacy rights — is explained in the HORE Privacy Policy.

If browser storage contains or is linked with information that identifies or relates to an individual, HORE will handle that information in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable law.

17. Changes to this Policy

HORE may update this Policy when its website, application, technology providers, privacy controls or legal requirements change.

The current version and last-updated date will be published on this page.

A material change will not by itself convert an optional privacy choice into consent for a materially different processing purpose where a new choice is required by applicable law.
